Conservation communication roles, activities, and practices of the media are examined and analyzed. Critical relationships between the media and conservation practitioners and organizations are also examined.

Jamie Dahl (she/her) is an instructor in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and program lead for the Communications for Conservation Graduate Certificate. She is a Doctoral Candidate, in Education and Human Resources Studies at Colorado State University. Her research focus is on diversity and inclusion within the natural resource professions using an environmental justice frame. Her prior work and education experiences include forest management, volunteer management, training, extension outreach, career coaching, education, and research consulting. She has been an active member of the Society of American Foresters for over 20 years and serves as the chair of SAF’s Diversity and Inclusion Working Group. Jamie is also an active Project Learning Tree Facilitator.
