Introduction to the application of the principles of engineering and biology to the analysis, design, and optimization of bioprocesses.

Introduction to Chemical and Biological Engineering; CBE 160 (MATLAB for Chemical and Biological Engineering); Attributes of Living Systems (GT-SC1)

Instructors

Christie Peebles

Dr. Christie Peebles was born and raised in a rural town in Central Texas. She received her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University and her Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from Rice University. She was a post-doctoral scholar for a year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is an associate professor who started at Colorado State University in 2009. Her lab’s research focuses on using metabolic engineering and synthetic biology to engineer organisms for a variety of applications from fuels and chemicals to pharmaceuticals and agriculture. In her free time, she loves to walk her dog, craft, and garden.
