ANTH 274 - Human Diversity (GT-SC2)

  • 3 credits
View available sections
Explore human diversity, both physical and genetic, within an evolutionary framework. The scientific method is applied to the sociocultural contexts that give rise to prejudices in order to critically evaluate misconceptions regarding race, gender, and human behaviors deemed 'natural’. Approaching human diversity from an evolutionary perspective dismantles biases that justify prejudice and result in unequal access to power and resources as well as negative health impacts.

This course meets the All-University Core Curriculum (AUCC) requirements for Biological/Physical Sciences (Category 3A) and is approved under gtPathways in the content area of Natural and Physical Sciences without Lab (GT-SC2).
